Largest agricultural export platform in Central America

The Agritrade Expo and Conference is the largest agricultural export platform in Central America, bringing together international buyers with the most important exporters of fresh and processed products from the region.

The platform promotes agricultural development and increases exports by generating business, employment and economic growth through market access complying with international standards. It allows alliances with companies, institutions and associations that could benefit and strengthen the development of the agricultural sector of Central America.

It also provides training of micro-entrepreneurs and associations through experts in the agricultural sector and the future participation of Central American pavilions in the main international agricultural trade shows, such as Fruit Logistica in Berlin and PMA in the United States, among others.

Currently, Guatemala has tremendous potential for expanding its agriculture sector – promising job creation and stable income. U.S. government Feed the Future programa has trained over 21,000 horticulture and coffee farmers on good agricultural practices, pest management, improved seed varieties, irrigation and water harvesting.

As a result, farmers are now using improved technologies and management practices on over 15,000 hectares of land. In addition, Feed the Future also unlocked $5.6 million in loans that enabled smallholder farmers to implement new technologies and improve the quality of their products.
