Latin American audiovisual piracy tour once again arrives in Guatemala
The Anti-piracy Summit & Contents Tour arrived for the second time in Guatemala to celebrate its thirteenth edition. The event took place at the prestigious Hotel Casa Santo Domingo, in the city of La Antigua, where it gathered 168 attendees to reflect on the problem of illegal access to audiovisual services.

"This is the second time we are going to Guatemala because the challenges that the country represents are really important: on the one hand there is the retransmission of signals from the United States without authorization and on the other the exponential growth of the illegal transmission of content via websites and applications”, said to publinews Francisco Escutia, CEO of Latin America Anti-Piracy & Intellectual Property Consulting (LAAPIP) and co-organizer of the event.

In Guatemala, only 10% of users access TV signals through legal devices, therefore in the event it was concluded that there is an important need to centralize the local fight against piracy through a regional working group that can meet frequently. "The challenge is to raise awareness among children, parents and consumers, and support the authorities actions to confront this monster”, stated Escutia.

The Anti-piracy Summit & Contents Tour is an event organized by TODOTVMEDIA and LAAPIP that since 2015 travels through the main cities of Latin America to analyze, debate and find solutions to the problem of piracy of audiovisual contents in the region.
