Lima, home of the Anti Piracy & Contents Summit
The Anti-Piracy & Contents Summit 2017, organized by TodoTv Media and the Latin America Anti-Piracy & Intellectual Property Consulting (LAAPIP), continued its Latin American tour in the city of Lima, capital of Peru, on October 5.

Under the motto "Audiovisual theft by TV cable and Internet", Peru´s Director of Copyright, Fausto Vienrich, explained the most recent advances achieved by the institution against TV cable piracy. So far in 2017 the Directorate of Copyright concluded throughout the country 48 administrative sanctions procedures against informal cable companies that broadcast television signals without the authorization of their owners. Through those procedures, the institution seeks to ensure that cable companies regularize their transmissions and respect the rights of creation and commercialization of television content.

In that sense, Vienrich emphasized the coordinated work carried out by the Directorate with sixteen public and private institutions to counteract crimes against Intellectual Property. "The mission is to eliminate and reduce the occurrence of these crimes, to the benefit of the formal industry and the consumers", he said.
