Managing copyrighted works in the music industry
In compliance with the Intellectual Property Law of El Salvador, 129 Salvadoran music artists received copyright royalties by ARIES, E.G.C., an entity created in 2011 that manages the use and musical exploitation rights of both Salvadoran and foreign performers and musicians.

Among the benefited artists were Salsalvador All Stars, Tonic 86, Frigüey, Jafet Jerez, Sound Test, Sharon Salazar and REDD, musicians related to the salsa, latin ballad, rock and ska genres.

In El Salvador, the work of collecting related rights is done through the Salvadoran Association of Producers of Phonograms and Allied, Collective Management Entity (ASAP). Copyright societies suchs as ARIES, E.G.C. track all the events and venues where copyrighted works are used and ensure that the copyright holders listed with the society are remunerated for such usage. The copyright society publishes its own tariff scheme on its websites and collects a nominal administrative fee on every transaction.
