Marta Berkemeyer Honored by APAPI

On October 28, 2025, the Asociación Paraguaya de Agentes de la Propiedad Intelectual (APAPI) held the International Seminar “Artificial Intelligence and the Monetization of Intangible Assets” in Asunción, Paraguay. The seminar brought together leading national and international specialists to discuss the challenges and opportunities posed by digital transformation in the field of intellectual property rights.
The seminar also included a signed cooperation agreement between the Franklin Pierce School of Law (University of New Hampshire, US) and APAPI, aiming to promote academic training and international collaboration in intellectual property.
During the seminar, Marta Berkemeyer was formally recognized as an Honorary Member of APAPI for her significant contributions to advancing intellectual property protection in Paraguay and the broader region. Berkemeyer is a partner at BKM | Berkemeyer. Her practice focuses on intellectual property, pharmaceutical and regulatory law, intellectual property litigation and alternative dispute resolution, licensing, distribution and franchising, trademarks, and patents.
She has extensive experience advising major domestic and international companies in sectors including entertainment, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, luxury goods, food and beverages, and technology. Her experience also includes managing the portfolios of Fortune 500 companies.
The seminar highlighted her career and contributions. The honor underscores her role in promoting intellectual property awareness, legal frameworks, and professional standards. The recognition by APAPI serves as a public acknowledgment of her influence in the intellectual property community in Paraguay and internationally.
