Mercosur agrees on food labeling criteria

On June 18, the ministers of Public Health of the Mercosur member countries met in Asunción, Paraguay, to agreed on a food labeling criteria to regulate contents of fats, sugars and salt. A general criteria was laid down for the entire region.

Specifically, Uruguay is already advancing on the issue and plans to issue a decree on the future.
