Montevideo, Latin America’s third most livable city
Every year, The Economist’s Intelligence Unit ranks 140 cities on a scale of 1 to 100, based on a number of indicators, including standard of living, crime rate, transportation system, access to education and health, and economic and political stability.

According to the 2018 Global Liveability Index, Vienna is the best city in the world to live in, displacing Melbourne, which this year drops down to second place. The Japanese city of Osaka is the third most livable city worldwide.

In Latin America, Buenos Aires is still the region’s most livable city (62nd in the world ranking), followed by Santiago de Chile (63rd). Montevideo comes in at third place in the best Latin American cities to live in and 67th in the world.
