A memorandum of understanding for the promotion of Uruguayan meat products, signed by the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the National Meat Institute (INAC), lays the groundwork for the provision of professional assistance to exporting companies. The goal is to enable a fluid interaction between relevant Chinese government agencies and Uruguayan operators, in order to ensure rapid responses to any requests or negotiations.
According to an INAC press release, China has been Uruguay’s main trading partner since 2013, and it is the first destination for our product exports, accounting for almost 25% of the country’s foreign sales of national goods. Over 90% of the products exported by Uruguay are agricultural, livestock or agro-industry products.
