New brands and companies increase foreign investment in Nicaragua

Among the major investments of 2015, authorities stressed the one of Mexican company SuKarne, which, with a total value of USD 115 million, opened an integrated farming plant in Nicaragua to help increase cattle and meat exports from the Central American country.
Another important investment was also made from Mexico: Grupo Lala, one of the largest dairy companies in the region, opened in May a USD 50 million plant for milk and dairy products processing.
Also, during 2015 Walmart of Mexico and Central America (a United States subsidiary of Walmart Stores) invested USD 46.7 million to open the first retail store under the Walmart brand in Nicaragua.
For last, another US giant, warehouse chain PriceSmart, opened this year its second store in Nicaragua with a USD 15 million investment.
