New Law expected to transform Honduras tourism industry
In an effort to overcome the country´s problems of connectivity and infrastructure on tourism, the Executive of Honduras sent to the National Congress the Law of Tourism.

While in the past the National Chamber of Tourism of Honduras has asked for a new legal framework to support that industry, a recent study by the Honduran Institute of Tourism revealed that the country has the greatest tourism potential and the best varied tourism offer of all Central America. According to the study, the Law of Tourism can generate about 250,000 jobs in the country while also favoring small and medium entrepreneurs, local industries and other sectors linked to the tourism industry.

A report from the Central Bank of Honduras stated that 2.3 million visitors entered the country in 2016, 200.000 more than 2015, but an increase that the government considers "poor" as it implies less than a 1% growth.
