New project of law for the participation of private capitals in public Research & Development projects in Peru

Such projects would still need to receive the prior approval of the Public Investment National System – SNIP, as it occurs now with infrastructure projects.
As the project mentions in its exposition of motives, private investment and participation in the execution of R&D projects is crucial to improve the low levels of technological preparation and innovation that Peru obtains as a country, and which affect our current competitiveness ranking.
It is also mentioned on the project that such low levels of technological preparation and innovation are reflected in the low number of patents obtained by Peruvian resident, either persons or companies.
In our opinion, it would be very positive that this project is passed into law, and it would also be in accordance with the objectives of the National Plan of Science, Technology and Technological Innovation, 2006 – 2021.
