New technological services for IP users
By Aguayo, Ecclefield & Martínez (AEM Law Firm)

A longed-for project, the services will facilitate access to history and information on trademarks, Appelations of Origin (AO), Geographical Indications (GI), licenses, transfers, levies and other relevant acts. For example, they will allow to maintain the registration number for a renewed trademark, therefore facilitating the historical study of it.
Some of the services are:
New submission forms, which simplify submission by reducing the information that the registrant must complete, fastening trademark renewals.
New electronic book of registered trademarks, Appelations of Origin and Geographical Indications, which allows accurate searching of granted registrations based on number and date of registration. The book contains the bibliographic data of the trademark, its owner, its status and all other information associated with it.
Single password. A unique password is already available for citizens to use services throughout the country in public offices such as the Civil Registry and the Institute of Social Security. Inapi joins this system easing the access of more users to its services and increasing their security as it guarantees who are using them.
New ways of communicating with users through a chat on the Inapi website. Starting in May, this pilot program will complement and strengthen the already existing communication channels, today served by emails and call center.
