Nicaragua, multi-medalist in International Chocolate Awards

The International Chocolate Awards is an independent competition recognizing excellence in fine chocolate making and in the products made with fine chocolate. The Awards were founded in 2012 and are run by a group of independent international partners based in the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States, with years of experience tasting and evaluating chocolate and running fine chocolate related events.
The winners of the 2017 World Final were announced in London and three chocolates elaborated with Nicaraguan grains were awarded:
In the micro-batch plain/origin milk chocolate bars category the gold medal was for Omnom Chocolate, an Iceland product which uses milk of Nicaragua.
In the micro-batch plain/origin dark chocolate bars category the bronze medal was for Castronovo Chocolate, a US product which uses 70% of its cocoa variety Nicalizo comes from Nicaragua.
In the milk chocolate ganaches or truffles category the bronze medal was for es koyama, a Japanese product which uses strawberry and fukinoto in youthful condition from Nicaragua.
