Cerveza Toña, the #1 selling beer in Nicaragua, has begun its distribution in Spain as part of its expansion strategy to gain new international markets. After the United States, Spain is the country from which most remittances arrive in Nicaragua, with USD 271.5 million dollars in 2020, 14.7% of the total.Cerveza Toña is produced by Compañía Cervecera de Nicaragua (CCN), which has been producing top quality beer since 1926 and is one of the most technologically advanced brewers in the Americas. In a statement, CCN reported that the distribution into Spain “seeks to give continuity to Toña’s growth outside of the Central American region”.
Using 100% natural ingredients, Toña is a smooth tasting premium lager with an exceptionally balanced flavor and rich body. The brand is marketed as a traditional Nicaraguan beer, often associated with the local culture and customs.
Since 2003 it has been offered in the United States. Other regular markets for the beer are Cosa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Canada and Australia.
