Paraguay elected to WIPO’s Coordination Committee

During the 59th (27th extraordinary) ordinary sessions of the Assemblies of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Paraguay was elected to the WIPO’s Coordination Committee, a membership established once every two years at the ordinary sessions of the Assemblies of WIPO.

“Geographical and gender diversity remain priorities. We have improved in geographical diversity, which is a long process, given the low rate of attrition of staff. One hundred and twenty-three (123) nationalities are now represented on the staff. We need to make further progress on gender diversity in the upper ranks of the organization and our eye is firmly focused on achieving this”, said WIPO’s Director General Francis Gurry during the opening speech of the meeting, which took place at the WIPO headquarters in Geneva, from September 30 to October 9, 2019.
