Paraguay seeks new markets through E-commerce law
By Rodrigo Aguirre, Berkemeyer Attorneys & Counselors

Paraguay has already enacted a law on digital signatures and electronic records, and this has enabled digital citizenship. The piece of legislation regulates the interaction between Paraguayan Government and citizens and makes the relationship transparent and environmentally sustainable.
The Paraguayan e-commerce law establishes an enforcement authority (Ministry of Industry and Commerce) and offenses should be punished according to the severity of them.
Moreover, the key objective of the legislation is to complete the Paraguayan legal framework in an area that gave other countries the opportunity to access new markets and develop new services.
Paraguayan citizens look forward to the enactment of the new commerce, especially now that the country is going through economic growth at a fast pace.
