The 75th FIFA Congress will take place in Asunción, Paraguay, following a decision by the FIFA Council.
The Congress, the sixth to be staged in South America, will be held on 15 May 2025 in CONMEBOL’s home country as the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) celebrates 100 years of FIFA membership, having joined at the 14th Ordinary Congress in Prague, Czechoslovakia, on 24 May 1925.
The Congress will also mark the beginning of a significant period for the continent in the context of the global game, with South America set to stage the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and the FIFA World Cup centenary celebration matches in 2030.
More than 2,500 people, including international delegations, special guests, FIFA representatives, media and soccer legends, will gather in Asunción for this prestigious event.
Hosting the Congress will have a significant impact on Paraguay’s economy and infrastructure. It is expected to boost key sectors such as tourism, hospitality, transportation and gastronomy, in addition to generating employment growth in Asunción and the surrounding areas.
The FIFA Congress is the supreme legislative body of FIFA, the international governing body of football (soccer). It is composed of representatives from each of FIFA’s 211 member associations, with each association having one vote, regardless of its size or footballing success.
