墨西哥获得PCT单位提名，力求在全球专利体系中发挥更大作用

墨西哥已正式提名墨西哥工业产权局（IMPI）成为《专利合作条约》（PCT）下的国际检索单位（ISA）和国际初步审查单位（IPEA）。
该提案于2025年日内瓦世界知识产权组织（WIPO）大会期间公布，体现了墨西哥扩大其在国际专利领域影响力的雄心。世界知识产权组织（WIPO）的正式指定程序仍在进行中，必须经WIPO PCT联盟大会批准。
如果获得批准，IMPI将加入获授权执行PCT申请国际检索和初步审查任务的国家和地区局选定群组。这些职能是PCT体系的重要组成部分，使申请人在向157个PCT缔约国中的一个或多个提交国家申请之前，能够提前了解其发明的潜在专利性。
PCT由世界产权组织管理，为寻求跨国专利保护的个人和公司提供了一条精简且经济高效的途径。一份PCT申请与在所有成员国分别提交国家申请具有同等法律效力。该系统包括集中检索和审查服务，以及随后的国家阶段进入服务，使申请人能够做出更明智的决定，并延缓大量的翻译和申请费用。
