Peru continued to protect the Pisco Denomination of Origin

The National Institute for the Defense of Free Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) carried out interventions in production wineries, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, liquor stores, shops and supermarkets, among others, in order to verify possible infractions. All interventions were done on those regions of the country that are within the scope of protection of the Pisco Denomination of Origin: Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna.
In addition to interventions and seize operations, during 2017 Indecopi led several campaigns among Pisco producers about the importance of complying with the Regulation of the Denomination of Origin.
