Peru inspires global beauty leader
American nail polish manufacturer OPI, a division of French beauty giant City, launched a 12 limited edition shades inspired by the textiles and patterns from traditional Peruvian clothing and accessories. OPI executives, designers and photographers, along with Peruvian model Juana Burga and Peruvian nail artist Leonobi Galvez, travelled to a “country rich in culture on a journey through nail color to a transcendent land of natural beauty”, according to a press release from the company.

Isabella Falco, Director of Communication and Country Image of Peru’s Export and Tourism Promotion agency (Promperú) highlighted this types of projects as part of the goal of “positioning the country worldwide” and helping Country Brand “attract tourists, investments and boost exports”.

The 12 shades, with names such as Rainbow Mountain, Nail Lacquer, Infinite Shine and GelColor, “were inspired by everything from the craft of local women to delicious food and stunning geological sites”, proving “that color is a universal language”.
