Peru strengthens coordination to prevent piracy
The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) and the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT) signed a cooperation agreement that aims to facilitate technical assistance between both entities to reduce the infringement of intellectual property rights in Peru.

The agreement will allow the exchange of specific information on imports and exports, focusing on customs processes to prevent the entry into the country of goods that represent a high risk to the health or welfare of consumers. In such goal, Indecopi will provide to Sunat information on all interventions, inspections, seizures and precautionary measures that intend to protect intellectual property rights and regulations.
