Peruvian startups on the rise
The National Council of Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (Concytec) of Peru presented Emprende Tech, a new initiative focused on promoting technological ventures with a high component in research and development.

The project was presented during the National Innovation Week and has already managed to bring together 35 Peruvian startups from various goods and services categories. Emprende Tech will look to stimulate more technological development from those startups fostering technology transfer with academic and business sectors and eventually helping the newly emerged ventures into developing a viable business model in the market.

Currently, 75% of global ventures are in the startup category. According to the Ministry of Production, Peru has 432 startups which generate more than 3,000 jobs with an average salary of USD 594, but their weakness is low productivity due to their lack of specialization and limited funding.
