Piracy blocking injunction against Rojadirecta

The Copyright Commission (CDA) of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) of Peru, ordered local ISP’s to block Rojadirecta, an internationally well-known illegal P2P network that distributes sports events.

The injunction was requested by Fox Sports Latin America, which has sued Rojadirecta in several Latin American countries for copyright infringement, affirming the network live streams its channels without the needed authorization, making available to viewers South American soccer events like the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana.

Indecopi considered, among other reasons, that Rojadirecta infringed local regulations on copyright and related rights.
