For its commitment to a multi-faceted, sustainable strategy that will continue to generate change, Essential Costa Rica, Costa Rica’s Country Brand, was selected as “Place brand of the year” during the City Nation Place Awards, which celebrate the worlds best practices in place branding and marketing. 

The ceremony took place at the City Nation Place Global 2019 in London, with 200 delegates from over 37 countries, including representatives from 84 global cities and towns, which discussed how to engage citizens, work in partnership with the private sector and develop a strategic approach to attracting talent, tourism, and investment.

City Nation Place is a UK based entrepreneurial organisation dedicated to creating world-leading events for this niche, but growing market of government teams, government funded organisations, agencies and consultancies focused on building a competitive identity and managing the reputation of place.
