Playboy files lawsuit for trademark infringement

Playboy Enterprises, Inc. filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Fashion Nova, Inc. for infringing its world-famous Bunny Costume design.The company accuses Fashion Nova of unauthorized marketing and sale of multiple versions of Playboy’s Bunny Costume design, even after Playboy requested that Fashion Nova cease and desist its unauthorized use.
“The Bunny Costume has been associated with Playboy for over 60 years and has become a staple of the Playboy brand. The Bunny Costume was the first service uniform registered with the United States Patent & Trademark Office, and a complete Bunny Costume can be found in the collection of the Smithsonian. Playboy considers the defense and enforcement of its celebrated trademarks of paramount importance in protecting its customers from those who wish to knowingly profit from deception and confusion”, Playboy stated in a press release.
