Promoted investment projects on the rise

In the period from January to May 2017 203 projects were recommended by the Investment Act Implementation Committee (COMAP), for a total value of US$ 371.8 million. This represents an increase of 60% in the number of initiatives sponsored by the COMAP.

In the first five months of this year, the top investment sectors were: industry (65%), services (21%), tourism (6%), and commerce and agriculture (each at 4%).

Moreover, in May the COMAP recommended 42 ventures for a total value of US$ 52.6 million, US$ 18.3 million of which were for machinery and equipment and US$ 34.3 million for civil works.
