Public regulations under scrutiny
The government of El Salvador presented the Regulatory Improvement Law, which seeks to generate an impact on the country's investment climate by stimulating public-private partnerships to generate more jobs. "The Law of Regulatory Improvement is the result of the process of constructive dialogue between the public-private sector to generate more investment and jobs in the country," said Vice President Oscar Ortiz during the announcement.

With the approval of the law three tools were created to contribute on regulatory improvements: the Regulatory Agenda, which will identify the regulations that all public institutions plan to issue in a calendar year; the Regulatory Impact Assessment (EIR for its Spanish acronym), a systematic analysis of the objectives, options and impacts of regulations in order to ensure that their benefits exceed their costs; and the National Registry of Procedures, where all processes that citizens undergo will be recorded for their legal certainty.
