Publicly owned television network protects its trademark
The National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP), a state owned media group formed by television network TV Peru and radio networks Nacional and La Crónica, requested a new online local television channel to refrain from using the name Digital TV Peru.

Through a cease and desist letter signed by its general manager, Felipe Berninzon, TV Peru warns Digital TV Peru that it cannot use its trademark for any television related activity and/or television space, otherwise it will initiate legal actions for trademark infringement as both trademarks are highly similar and may confuse the consumers.
