Recovery in Property Law Index
According to data from the new edition of the Property Law Index (IPRI), Uruguay recovered, albeit slightly, in terms of property law compared to the rest of the world. This, after having suffered a fall of seven places the previous year.

The IPRI, prepared by the Property Rights Alliance of the United States in partnership with the Center for Development Studies (CED) in Uruguay, is a global indicator that seeks to assess the evolution and status of property rights in 129 countries of the world starting from three components: legal and political environment, physical property rights and intellectual property rights.

Overall, this year's IPRI data concludes again that in countries where property rights are better defined and protected, there is more prosperity and less poverty.
