The National Intellectual Property Service (Senapi) of Bolivia presented its new regulation of infringement actions against IP rights, looking to speed up and improve the office services in the defense of Intellectual Property.“We need to systematically simplify procedures to provide adequate protection to our companies, inventors, creators and artists,” stated Grover Nelson Lacoa, Vice Minister of Internal Commerce.
He highlighted the importance of providing tools to ensure that IP rights are respected in an effective, timely and accessible manner, alongside the legitimate interests of those concerned.
The regulation is aimed at law professionals, students, entrepreneurs, innovators, inventors and researchers, allowing the user of Bolivia’s IP system to easily know and access the most used and basic elements for the protection of IP products and services.
It is focused on the legal protection of persons, businesses and associations that own trademarks, trade names, invention patents, utility model patents, copyrights and industrial designs, allowing Senapi to improve its action against infringements and advice on registration processes.
“This regulation deepens the legal certainty for holders of Intellectual Property rights in Bolivia, contributing to the development of the country, through the promotion of innovations that strengthen economic activity at all levels,” Lacoa said.
