Teaming with Google to digitalize IP system
On June 11th, 2019, El Salvador’s IP Office (CNR, by its Spanish acronym), signed an agreement with Google to digitalize all its procedures. "We have an agreement with Google to start the modernization process. Our goal is to be a 100% digital institution”, said CNR’s director Tanya Cortez on a Twitter post.

The post showed a picture of the meeting with a presentation of Google Cloud by Google authorities. Such platform is used by States, cities and counties to support citizens in public procedures and access to information, scaling data storages and analytics capabilities without affecting speed or security, no matter the size or complexity of datasets.

Since 2006 Google has also a search engine called Google Patents that indexes global litigation information and more than 87 million patents and patent applications with full text from 17 patent offices, The service has introduced support for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the European Patent Office (EPO) boolean search syntax.
