Times Square, once again landmark of Guatemala's tourism campaign
Based on a master plan for sustainable tourism for the years 2015-2025, the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT, for its Spanish acronym) started in Times Square, New York, its second international campaign to promote the country.

Tikal National Park, Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala City, Lake Atitlan, Chichicastenango and Semuc Champey Natural Monument are among the destinations promoted in the campaign, which in addition to images at Times Square will also be in taxis, buses and trains of Miami, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The campaign is focused in four specialized tourist market segments: destination weddings and honeymoons; learning of the Spanish language; meetings, conventions and events; sport fishing, adventure and nature.

In 2017, these promotional actions at the international level allowed the country to reach in 2018 the arrival of 2,250,644 visitors, with an approximate income of USD 1,287 million.
