Trademark infringement regarding Zion Williamson

The infringing trademarks, the lawsuit alleges, are identical to or substantially identical to or “otherwise confusingly similar” to Panini’s trademark Rated Rookie. “Such persons who are seeking the Panini sports trading card product line will be mistakenly led to deal with the defendant,” the complaint read.
Panini America, an exclusive manufacturer of NBA sports trading cards, signed an exclusive contract with Williamson to commercialize autographed Rated Rookie cards. Williamson was selected by the New Orleans Pelicans with the first pick of the 2019 NBA draft.
