Updated Domain Dispute Service for .HN
By Bufete Mejia & Asociados

The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center has announced an update to its dispute resolution framework for .HN domain names—the country-code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Honduras.
Since 2009, WIPO has worked in partnership with NIC.HN (the registry for .HN domains) to administer domain name disputes under a policy modeled on the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP). The updated version of the .HN Dispute Policy and Rules came into force in May 2025, and is available in Spanish only.
The .HN dispute Policy is a variation of the UDRP:
-It is sufficient for the complainant to prove that either registration or use of the .HN domain name is in bad faith.
-The procedure does not require the parties to send hard copies of their pleadings and annexes anymore.
-The Mutual Jurisdiction for domain name disputes is the competent Courts of Honduras.
