Uruguay, more prosperous by the day

The 2016 edition of the index positioned Uruguay as the strongest overall performer in Central and South America, showing particular improvement in the categories of personal freedom and governance. The index highlights that in the last five years the country attained third place in the region with respect to per capita income growth.
The Legatum Prosperity Index also reveals that Uruguay has seen major progress in economic quality.
