Uruguay Promotion of Artificial Intelligence

The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote AI in the country.
The MoU covers a range of topics related to AI, including:
-Professional training: This will include developing programs to upskill the workforce and create new opportunities for people to learn about AI.
-Data governance: The MoU also calls for the development of best practices for data governance in Uruguay. This will help to ensure that data is used responsibly and ethically.
-Cybersecurity: This will help to protect the country from cyberattacks and other threats.
-Research centers: The MoU also calls for the establishment of AI research centers in Uruguay. This will help to foster innovation and create new opportunities for businesses and researchers.
The signing of the MoU was with NVIDIA, a leading technology company in the development of artificial intelligence and data science. It is a significant step forward for Uruguay's efforts to become a hub for AI and innovation. The country has already made progress in this area, having signed similar agreements with Microsoft.
