Uruguay, the most prosperous country in Latin America and the Caribbean

The last ranking performed by this institute, covering 142 countries, positioned Norway in the leading spot for the seventh year in a row. The most prosperous country in the world is joined in the top five by Switzerland, Denmark, New Zealand, and Sweden.
In Latin America and the Caribbean the list is headed by Uruguay, coming in at number 32 globally. Uruguay is also the tenth country in the world in the personal freedom category, and is among the top countries in terms of tolerance of immigrants (eighth place) and ethnic minorities (thirteenth place).
