Uruguayan institutions developed diagnostic tests for the new coronavirus
A team of scientists from the University of the Republic of Uruguay and the Institute Pasteur of Montevideo have developed a test assay that will help diagnose whether people are carriers of coronavirus.

The university’s teaching prorector, Juan Cristina, explained that it’s a diagnostic test developed upon previous work, technologies, designs and methodologies from other universities around the world that had made their protocols available amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
