U.S. and Uruguayan Development Agencies Sign First Trilateral Cooperation Agreement
By Pittaluga Abogados

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Uruguayan International Cooperation Agency (AUCI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to advance trilateral cooperation in Latin America. The signing marks the first time the two development agencies have signed an agreement to collaborate on shared development goals in the region.
Trilateral cooperation is a powerful mechanism that allows countries to leverage their unique perspective and expand their development accomplishments while promoting prosperity, security, and good governance.
As a first step to begin implementation, AUCI is participating as instructors at a customs academy led by USAID’s Central America and Mexico Regional Mission in El Salvador, bringing their policy expertise to the vital training.
