USPTO denies Tom Brady's trademark application
By Ferraiuoli LLC

Brady, an American football quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL), has been known as Tom Terrific due to its long list of achievements. But the nickname was first used by Seaver, a retired American professional baseball pitcher who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1967 to 1986.
“The mark Tom Terrific points uniquely and unmistakably to Tom Seaver and the fame or reputation of Tom Seaver as ‘Tom Terrific’ is such that a connection between Mr. Seaver and the applied-for goods would be presumed,” the USPTO stated.
