Women in a Legal World Launches Dominican Republic Chapter
By Guzmán Ariza, Attorneys at Law

Women in a Legal World (WLW), a Spain-based international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting women’s leadership and highlighting women’s talent in the legal sector, has officially launched its Dominican Republic chapter. This expansion broadens the organization’s international presence and creates a new platform for collaboration and professional development for women in the country’s legal community.
The launch brought together legal professionals in Santo Domingo and featured Marlén Estévez Sanz, Global President of Women in a Legal World, who presented the organization’s vision, objectives, and the opportunities offered by its international network.
Estévez Sanz stated: “The arrival of Women in a Legal World in the Dominican Republic represents an important step in the expansion of our international network. We want to create a space that connects and showcases the talent of women in the Dominican legal sector, generates opportunities for collaboration, and helps ensure that more women participate in decision-making spaces.”
WLW brings together lawyers, judges, prosecutors, notaries, academics, corporate board advisers, compliance professionals, and other leaders connected to the legal field. Through working groups, events, and initiatives, the organization encourages knowledge sharing, professional collaboration, leadership development, and greater participation by women in decision-making.
WLW has developed partnerships with institutions such as Harvard Law School and has recognized prominent international leaders, including Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
The Women in a Legal World chapter in the Dominican Republic aims to foster connections among women in the legal profession, create opportunities for professional development, and promote initiatives with national and international reach.
The Dominican Republic chapter will be chaired by Giselle Pérez Reyes, partner at Guzmán Ariza, who will lead WLW’s initiatives and activities in the country. Pamela Benzán Arbaje, also a partner at Guzmán Ariza, will lead the Young RD chapter, which is dedicated to encouraging the participation and development of the next generation of legal professionals.
With this addition, Women in a Legal World expands its international presence and welcomes the Dominican Republic into a community committed to connecting, showcasing, and strengthening women’s leadership in the legal sector.
Women in a Legal World thanks Guzmán Ariza for sponsoring the launch and supporting the organization’s arrival in the Dominican Republic.
