XII National Inventors Contest
The "XII National Inventors Competition" came to an end in December with its award ceremony, attended among other authorities by the executive director of the National Bureau of Registries (CNR), Rogelio Canales Chávez, and the director of the Intellectual Property Registry, Diana Violeta Hasbún.

Chemistry, medicine, construction, environment, electronics and mechanics inventions were awarded in the 2014 edition of the competition, which evaluated criteria such as concept of invention, industrial applicability and novelty.

The first price was awarded to René Preza, José Menjívar, Oswaldo Orantes Méndez and Rafael Peraza for their development of a phone connector adapted to an electric motor and controlled by an electronic circuit,so that anyone may easily control it.

Created in 1999, the National Inventors Competition main objective is to generate in all citizens technical and scientific vocations through which they can create solutions for real problems of national interest, while at the same time developing and raising awareness of patents applications and Intellectual Property rights.

"Researchers and inventors must know that, according to our law, an invention is an idea applied to solve a specific problem. And with an adequate protection of it they can obtain commercial opportunities", said Canales Chávez.
