XV National Inventions Contest
A group of students from the National University Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza and two independent inventors from Lima were the winners of the XV National Inventions Contest, organized by the National Institute for Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi).

The students of the Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza university, located in the Amazonas Region, won first place with their project "Procedure for the generation of homozygous twins by embryonic bipartition". The project, also winner of the Biotechnology and Medicine category, is based on a process that uses embryos produced in vitro through a superovulation technique.

Second place was for two independent inventors from Lima: Max David Quispe Bonilla and Édgar Carlos Quispe Peña, with a project called "Portable electronic equipment and method to characterize fibers of animal origin".
